The Art and Science of Beer Brewing and Tasting (Part II)
This was the Part II of the original Beer Brewing and Tasting webinar hosted by Young NATEA and UC Davis TGSA in February 2019. We had repeated this seminar the second time due to popular demand. And we had another sold out event again.
We had the honor to invite Li-Wei Chen, a UC Davis graduate student from Taiwan, to share his expertise in beer brewing. The UC Davis TGSA hope to contribute their agricultural knowledge to the community and to help bridge Taiwanese culture to the US at Silicon Valley.
Li-Wei Chen is a certified beer server & judge and has worked for a year at the Mikkeller Bar. He will be discussing the beer brewing culture in Taiwan and America followed by a tasting tutorial, so come if you want to learn the perfect beer for you!
Topics covered in this seminar:
Part 1. Introduction
Part 2. The art and science of beer making
Part 3. What is “Craft Beer”?
Part 4. Taiwanese vs American beer from the culture perspective
Part 5. The introduction of Taiwanese breweries (and also American brands).
Part 6. How to choose your beer in the bars and restaurants – A Tasting tutorial and the introduction of beer styles.
NATEA was proud to sponsor this beer tasting event for FREE but attendees must present a government issued ID to demonstrate you are older than 21 to participate in the beer tasting.
